Martial arts are essentially a battle with yourself, so you learn to understand your limits and then surpass them at your own pace. Practicing Kung Fu is beneficial for all, and you’ll be amazed at the immediate results!
Passed down from generation to generation by illustrious Grand Masters, the traditional method dates back to the Shaolin temple period. It is carried on today by Grand Master Nam Anh, red belt 9th dan, Head Grand Master of the 6th generation of the Shaolin Wing Chun Orthodox School. Though this method has evolved over time, Grand Master Nam Anh, who has attained the highest level in the style, perpetuates the cultural heritage in compliance with the mandate he was given.
You will first prepare your body with the basic limbering up exercises. This group of exercises develops strength and flexibility with an emphasis on breathing and concentration. Next, you’ll learn the basic positions, punches and blocking techniques, as well as forms, weapon handling and exercises for applied techniques in order to progressively make your way to techniques in pairs. This physical training includes theory lessons to introduce you to our school’s history and fundamental philosophy.
You’ll be reminded that patience is a virtue given the time you’ll have to put into practicing before you start to fight. It is important for the safety and efficiency of the training to master the basic techniques before practicing them with a partner.
Our training method ensures optimal progression, safety, and efficiency over the long-term. The training follows the traditional method and requires discipline and perseverance.
Though the training occurs over a long period of time, you will be able to see results in the short term. You will feel better and have more energy, your body will be stronger and more flexible, and you’ll feel calmer and be in control of your life.
Keep in mind that all the physical abilities and combat techniques of Kung Fu are simply the effects of training: the ultimate goal is to apply a beautiful philosophy in order to become a better person.
